So what that means is a business who's hired someone like myself to run their Facebook page or run their Facebook ads has been kicked out of their own ad accounts and having them held hostage by this company.

Perhaps they didn't pay an invoice or something like that. Either way, it's terrible.

And the reason why these unethical businesses have been able to hijack your accounts is that the business owner has given that person or that company full admin access to their Facebook page or their Facebook ad account.

So to avoid this happening to you, unless you really trust that contractor, don't give them full admin access.

Use the editor or levels below editor for them to get access. So using the editor, a contractor should be able to do the majority of things that they need to do.

Occasionally, we do need admin access, but before you grant this access, make sure you really trust the person.
