How does Facebook advertising algorithm actually works? It comes down to three important factors as to whether your ad is shown or not.
The first factor is your bid. How much you're prepared to pay to show your ad to your ideal client, or your audience.
The next important factor is the expected action. What do you want people to do after seeing your ad? Do you want them to watch a video? Do you want them to go to your website? Do you want them to respond to your event, for examples.
And the final factor that is taken into account is the relevancy. How relevant is the content that you're showing to your audience and how well are they responding?

So Facebook takes these three factors, puts 'em into the wave of the Facebook algorithm, throws your ad into the sea of the hundreds of thousands other ads running, and then calculates it all in some magical way that I can't explain.
So that's why I always recommend that you run your ads for at least four days before you make a calculated decision on whether to can it or edit it because you can see there's a lot of factors that are involved when deciding to show your ad to your audience or not. Yes, it will run on day one, but it won't truly be optimised until at least day three and day four.
